This project was all about making use of redundant space in the most effective way for our client.

Plan

They wanted a design that encompassed their corporate identity yet still created a space where staff could relax, apply make-up, sit and read or play video games during their breaks.

After listening to the clients’ requirements, we created a mood board and 2D design document that incorporated what they wanted with a little inspiration of our own.

Works

We built a stud wall to hide existing windows, sprayed the ceiling whilst air-conditioning and conduit were added to create a raw, industrial look. A Tektura brick-effect wall covering was applied to three of the walls, with the fourth being left white, save for the go-faster stripes that were painted to flow from the colours of the bold carpet tiles.

We built a custom laminated bench with a Hollywood-style dressing table mirror and hairdryer, added lighting for a vintage feel and installed two arcade machines. The room was completed with a selection of quality upholstered furniture.

Result

The finished result is a unique and vibrant room, toned down ever so slightly by the clever use of lighting. It was extremely well-received by management and was in use within minutes of us completing works!
