PEI-Genesis Workspace Fit Out
The team at Foursquare Workspace have enjoyed a long-standing partnership with PEI-Genesis, having supplied office furniture and interior solutions for their sites for over a decade. Over the years, we’ve developed a deep understanding of their brand, operations, and culture — enabling us to deliver tailored solutions that perfectly meet their evolving needs.
In 2017, we were proud to complete the refurbishment of their washroom facilities at the company’s European Distribution Centre. Building on that success, PEI-Genesis recently approached us again, this time to reconfigure and refresh their workspace in Eastleigh. The aim was to create a bright, open, and productive office environment that would enhance employee wellbeing and make a lasting impression on visiting clients and partners.
Plan
At the time of this project, PEI-Genesis was undergoing a period of significant business growth. Their existing office setup no longer made the most of the available space, and the company wanted a modern, functional workspace that reflected their continued progress and commitment to their employees.
The key objectives were clear:
Maximise usable space and storage capacity.
Enhance natural light and openness across the floorplate.
Create a welcoming, professional atmosphere aligned with the company’s identity.
Incorporate flexible areas for collaboration, focused work, and relaxation.
Following initial site assessments and planning meetings, our design team developed a layout that combined practicality with visual appeal. The new plan maintained an open flow between departments while strategically introducing enclosed meeting rooms and breakout areas to support different working styles.
We also proposed a clean, bright aesthetic, anchored by light-reflective surfaces and a cohesive colour palette. The design incorporated modern furniture, geometric detailing, and high-quality finishes to ensure both durability and elegance throughout.
Works
To minimise disruption to PEI-Genesis’ day-to-day operations, the refurbishment was delivered in two carefully planned phases, with much of the work carried out outside of regular working hours. This approach ensured that business continuity was maintained throughout the project.
Office and Meeting Spaces
The main office and meeting areas underwent a complete transformation. The walls were redecorated in neutral tones to enhance brightness and give the space a fresh, contemporary feel. New partition walls were introduced to define zones while still preserving an open-plan flow. Each partition featured geometric glass manifestation, adding subtle visual interest and brand character while improving privacy.
The flooring was replaced throughout with Burmatex Alaska carpet tiles, known for their durability and modern appearance. Installed in a bespoke pattern, the flooring design complemented the overall palette and enhanced the sense of movement and space across the office.
Furniture and Fixtures
A major part of the refurbishment focused on upgrading the office furniture to improve comfort and efficiency. We introduced brand-new ergonomic seating, designed to support employee wellbeing through improved posture and long-term comfort.
The office layout featured white workstations and bench desks, supplied by our sister company, Office Furniture and Interiors. These sleek, reflective surfaces helped maximise natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. Each workstation was fitted with height-settable sliding tops, making IT access simple and efficient while maintaining a clean, uncluttered look.
Coordinated storage solutions were also integrated to make the most of available space, providing secure and practical options for files and equipment without disrupting the open-plan feel.
Breakout Area
To complete the transformation, we converted an unused section of the office into a brand-new breakout area — a comfortable and inviting space where staff could relax, socialise, or hold informal meetings. This new zone added variety and flexibility to the workspace, supporting both productivity and employee wellbeing.
The breakout area was finished with durable LVT flooring, chosen for its practicality, ease of maintenance, and stylish appearance. Soft seating and contemporary furnishings completed the space, making it a natural extension of the main office environment.
Result
The completed project has completely revitalised the PEI-Genesis Eastleigh office, creating a space that is now fully aligned with the company’s corporate culture, values, and vision for growth. The new design successfully balances style and substance — combining bright, open-plan work zones with comfortable breakout and meeting areas that encourage collaboration and creativity.
Delivered on time and within budget, the refurbishment demonstrates Foursquare Workspace’s ongoing commitment to understanding our clients’ evolving needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
Today, the refreshed office stands as a modern, functional, and inspiring workplace where employees can thrive, visitors feel welcome, and the PEI-Genesis brand continues to shine.
