Castle Donnington Office Fit Out
Following a period of rapid growth and expansion, the client based in Castle Donnington required a brand-new office space to accommodate their growing team. With the move to larger premises on the horizon, they reached out to Foursquare Workspace to help design, plan, and deliver a high-quality office fit out that would meet their operational needs and reflect their professional identity.
The client’s vision was clear from the outset: they wanted a workplace that would maximise the number of available workstations without compromising on comfort, aesthetics, or functionality. The goal was to create a modern, open, and elegant environment where employees could work efficiently, collaborate easily, and feel inspired by their surroundings.
Plan
Our design process began with an in-depth consultation with the client to understand their business operations, team structure, and day-to-day workflow. This step was crucial to ensure the space planning aligned perfectly with how their teams operated. They needed to optimise capacity—ensuring as many desks as possible could fit comfortably—while maintaining good circulation, sufficient storage, and well-defined zones for different types of work.
Based on the client’s brief, our design team produced detailed floorplans and layout drawings that showed exactly how the space would function once complete. These plans included workstation arrangements, meeting room layouts, reception design, and breakout areas. Every detail was considered—from desk orientation and lighting flow to traffic patterns—to achieve the perfect balance between density and comfort.
Our designers then translated these plans into 3D visualisations, enabling the client to see their new workspace come to life before construction began. These renders gave a realistic impression of how the furniture, finishes, and colour palette would interact in the space, helping the client make confident design decisions early on.
Works
Given the nature of the client’s operations, it was essential that the fit out caused zero downtime. The business needed to continue functioning at full capacity throughout the move and installation process. To accommodate this requirement, Foursquare Workspace developed a three-phase installation plan that allowed teams to relocate in stages while maintaining uninterrupted service.
Phase 1
The first phase focused on fitting out the ground floor, where 28 new workstations were installed. Each station was equipped with desk screens, pedestals, and adjustable monitor arms, ensuring every team member had a comfortable and practical workspace. We also installed storage units to keep the office neat and organised, supporting the client’s need for efficient document and equipment management.
Phase 2
The second phase took place on the first floor, where an additional 16 workstations were introduced. Alongside the desking, we created dedicated meeting rooms that provided private spaces for discussions, appointments, and collaborative sessions. These rooms were fitted with appropriate furniture and acoustic solutions to promote focus and professionalism.
Phase 3
The final stage of the project centred on creating a welcoming and stylish reception area. We installed a bespoke reception desk, comfortable visitor seating, and a range of soft furnishings to create a warm and inviting first impression for guests and clients. In addition, breakout areas were added to provide relaxed zones where employees could unwind, hold informal meetings, or collaborate in a more casual setting.
Result
The completed fit out successfully delivered a modern, cohesive, and highly functional workspace that meets the client’s current and future requirements. The new office layout not only maximises capacity but also maintains a pleasant and spacious feel throughout.
By completing the project in carefully managed phases, Foursquare Workspace ensured that the client experienced no disruption to their operations—a key success factor in this project.
